Datamine reveals Halo Infinite is full of memes

Halo fans have datamined a significant amount of content from the ongoing Halo Infinite technical preview, including weapon charms, armour FX and more.

Of particular note from the assets collated on Reddit, however, are the numerous emblems set to be included in Infinite, many of which are based on popular internet memes.

One of the emblems is even based on a viral retro photo of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. The online references have also snuck into Infinite’s weapon charms, including one alluding to an infamous online post.

It also appears that Infinite is planning to add some festive helmet attachments in time for Christmas.

Developer 343 Industries is running two technical previews this weekend and next (September 23-26 and September 30 – October 3) focused on “full-blown multiplayer”.

All Halo Insiders with eligible accounts as of September 13 are invited to participate in the latest tests. For details, head over to the Halo Waypoint website.

The event taking place from September 23-26 will focus on 4v4 Arena battles, while the event on September 30 – October 3 will look at 12v12 Big Team Battle contests.

In order to ensure enough players will be taking part to test the game’s online services, the test will only be active during certain time periods each day.

Last month Microsoft confirmed a Halo Infinite release date of December 8, 2021.

While Halo Infinite’s campaign and multiplayer will be released this holiday, the game won’t be launching as the complete package previously expected. 343 Industries recently confirmed it had delayed two Halo Infinite launch modes to next year in order to make the game’s 2021 release.
