Darksiders 4 and a new Kingdom Come are planned by the end of March 2028, Embracer says
A trademark registration for Kingdom Come Salvation was spotted last month
The long-awaited Darksiders 4 and a new game in the Kingdom Come series are expected by the end of March 2028, Embracer Group says.
In an interim report covering its Q1 results for its current financial year, the Swedish holding company gave an update on a number of some of its notable upcoming releases.
As well as previously announced games such as the two upcoming Tomb Raider titles, the update also referred to Darksiders 4 and a new Kingdom Come game, neither of which has yet been officially announced by name.
“Our pipeline is strengthening while capex and opex continue to trend downwards,” the statement reads. “The current financial year is anchored by Metro 2039 and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, both expected to be released in February, 2027.
“Momentum for Metro 2039, developed by our studio 4A Games, is strong. After its reveal, the game raced to 1 million wishlists in record-breaking time, reaching this milestone faster than any title in our history. Wishlists continue to grow ahead of expectation. We are excited to let players experience the game at Gamescom in Cologne in a few weeks.
“In FY 2027/28, we expect the release of the next game in the Kingdom Come franchise from Warhorse Studios, Darksiders 4 from Gunfire Games, as well as the externally published Tomb Raider: Catalyst from Crystal Dynamics along with Flying Wild Hog and Eidos Montréal.”
Embracer‘s 2027/28 financial year runs from April 2027 to March 2028, meaning it expects Darksiders 4, the new Kingdom Come and Tomb Raider: Catalyst to release during that 12-month window.
A new Kingdom Come trademark was filed last month
The first Kingdom Come: Deliverance was released in 2018, while Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 followed in 2025. While it hasn’t yet confirmed a third game in the series, a trademark for Kingdom Come Salvation was filed on the EU Intellectual Property Office website last month.
Should this trademark refer to the now-confirmed third game, it could mean an official announcement is imminent, perhaps as soon as the Opening Night Live presentation at Gamescom later this month.
As for Darksiders 4, THQ Nordic teased back in August 2024 that a new Darksiders game was on the way, with a teaser trailer declaring: “Be prepared to ride again.”
It later clarified on the Xbox Wire blog: “It won’t be long until we reveal more about where the Darksiders series is going next, but for now, know this – the Four Horsemen will ride again.”
Given that it’s now been two years since that statement, it seems possible that a Darksiders 4 announcement is also imminent, perhaps also during Gamescom Opening Night Live.
