In AWE protagonist Jesse Faden must enter the Investigations Sector and confront the creature lurking within the long-abandoned part of the Bureau.
“This threat has haunted the sector for years, waiting on the other side of the sealed Firebreak,” the DLC’s marketing says.
“In order to reclaim the Investigations Sector from its clutches, Jesse will need to explore the numerous Altered World Events investigated here, including one from the town of Bright Falls.”
AWE will add new story content and side missions, as well as new weapons and mods when it releases on August 27. Unlike Control’s first expansion, it will release on all platforms at the same time, Remedy said.
Remedy’s 2010 action-thriller Alan Wake follows a best-selling thriller novelist as he tries to uncover the mystery behind his wife’s disappearance, all while experiencing events from his latest book which he cannot remember writing.
Remedy recently signed publishing agreements with Epic Games for the company’s next two unannounced games.
