Control 2 will be an action RPG, Remedy says

Remedy Entertainment has announced that Control 2 will be an action RPG.

As part of the company’s Capital Markets day results, the Finland-based developer revealed that the sequel would add RPG elements, but shared no further details. Control Ultimate Edition will also  released on Mac on February 12.

Also announced as part of the results was that Alan Wake 2 has sold over 1.8 million units.

Alan Wake 2’s second piece of DLC, The Lake House, appears to directly tease Remedy Entertainment’s next project.

Control 2 is currently in development at Remedy Entertainment, where it is being co-financed by Annapurna. It will be published by Remedy Entertainment.

Annapurna also plans to bring Remedy IP, including Control and Alan Wake, to “film, TV and beyond”.

Explaining the deal, communications director Thomas Puha said: “Above all it means Remedy is able to make Control 2 exactly the game we want it to be, while we now also have an incredible partner to extend our IPs to other mediums.”

VGC’s Control review called the supernatural action adventure game “Remedy’s finest creation since the original Max Payne”.

Recently, Remedy Entertainment announced another game set in the Control universe, FBC: Firebreak.
