Child of Eden producer’s former PSVR exclusive Jupiter & Mars is coming to Nintendo Switch
Jupiter & Mars: Definitive Edition is out this week with new features and enhanced graphics

Former PSVR exclusive, Jupiter & Mars, has gotten a ‘definitive’ Nintendo Switch release, with new features and content.
Developed by independent game studio Tigertron and originally released in 2019, Jupiter & Mars takes players on a journey through submerged cities like New York and London as they neutralize machines that are disrupting sea life.
The game was helmed by former Lumines and Child of Eden producer James Mielke, and aimed to raise awareness of climate change through its narrative, which has the titular characters working together to save the oceans.
The Nintendo Switch version allows players to play from a fully third-person perspective for the first time, and features enhanced visuals, gameplay refinements and additional polish, according to its developer.
The new edition also features new music from Japanese electronic artist Ken Ishii.
Jupiter & Mars: Definitive Edition is available digitally for Nintendo Switch beginning September 10, 2026 for $19.99 USD. At launch, the game will receive a 20% discount.
“Jupiter & Mars is a game we’ve always imagined as an adventure where players could truly see Jupiter and Mars together, exploring this world side by side,” said James Mielke, Director of Jupiter & Mars.
“With the Definitive Edition, we’ve finally been able to realize that vision. We couldn’t be more excited that Nintendo Switch players will get to experience what we believe is the absolute best version of the game.”
VGC wrote in its Jupiter & Mars PS4 review that, “in theory, Jupiter and Mars has it all; collectables, skill upgrades, light puzzling, fetch quests – even an antagonist or two”, but criticised the game’s repetitive fetch tasks.
