Casting call seemingly confirms Wolfenstein 3 is coming and reveals new character

Leaked casting details have allegedly corroborated that a third Wolfenstein game is indeed in production at developer Machine Games.

Last month, multiple publications reported that the Sweden-based Bethesda studio has started work on Wolfenstein 3, following the completion of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. And now, thanks to alleged casting details published by MP1ST, we have some potential details on what the third game could look like.

The details, for a project codenamed ‘Valkyrie’, are reportedly attached to the same performance and casting director who worked on previous Machine Games titles.

Assuming they’re accurate, according to the casting call, the third game will feature a new character, codenamed Sofiya, who is said to be described as “a Ukrainian orphan between the ages of 8 and 11 who, alongside her adopted dog Ralph, is said to form a bond with William and accompany him on his travels”.

The description also describes the character’s background: “While initially suspicious and traumatized by war, she blooms under the care of the resistance (possibly referring to the Kreisau Circle) as a strong-willed survivor.”

Performance capture for the next Wolfenstein will reportedly begin in April.

The casting call is said to state that performance capture is scheduled to begin in April, with additional shooting dates planned for later in 2026 and extending into 2027, which suggests the game is in full production.

A new entry would make sense for Bethesda, considering it was recently confirmed that a Wolfenstein live-action series is in development at Amazon, following the huge success of its Fallout show.

And last year, the studio head of MachineGames, Jerk Gustafsson, admitted that the developer wasn’t finished with the Wolfenstein story, and that it would like to make another entry in the series.

“The first game is very much about [protagonist] BJ and how, obviously, he understands that the Nazis have won the war, but it’s also a very personal journey for him,” he told Noclip. “But at the same time, he meets Anya, he starts to see that there are other things at play as well, not only fighting Nazis.”
