A new Capcom survey asks players if they want to see sequels or remakes of certain current and old series.
The ‘Super Elections’ survey, which is found on the publisher’s Capcom Town website, asks 10 questions about various aspects of Capcom.
One of the questions asks: “Are there any Capcom game series (including spin-off games) that you would like to see get a sequel or new game?”
The following 20 options are given, many of which are series that haven’t seen a new entry in some time, with the player asked to choose three:
- Darkstalkers
- Okami
- Onimusha
- Ace Attorney
- Street Fighter
- Seongoku Basara
- Dino Crisis
- Dead Rising
- Devil May Cry
- Dragon’s Dogma
- Toraware no Paruma
- Vs Capcom
- Resident Evil
- Final Fight
- Breath of Fire
- Ghosts ‘n Gobins
- Monster Hunter
- Lost Planet
- Mega Man
- 1942
The survey then asks: “Is there a game you would like to see completely remade with the latest technology, including characters design and story direction?”
This section gives the following nine options as potential remake candidates, with the player asked to choose the one they would like to see most:
- Onimusha 1-3
- Ace Attorney 1-3
- Commando
- Rival Schools
- Nijiirocho no Kiseki
- Final Fight
- Breath of Fire 1-3
- Gargoyle’s Quest 1 and 2
- Mega Man 1-3
While the survey doesn’t mean any of these sequels or remakes are actively in development, it does imply that Capcom is seeking feedback from its audience before it decides which projects are worth pursuing next.
The Capcom Town website was launched in June 2023 to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary.
Billed by Capcom as “the ultimate digital tourist destination”, Capcom Town will be updated regularly with new features and includes a Retro Games section, a Musem and a ‘Merch Factory’ where players can download Capcom-themed Twitter icons.
