Capcom fans ask for new Dino Crisis and Mega Man games as sequel survey continues
The publisher launched a survey asking players which series they wanted to see returning
Capcom has shared information on its ongoing survey in which it’s asking players which series they would like to see getting new games.
The publisher launched its ‘Super Elections’ survey in February on its Capcom Town website, asking players 10 questions about various aspects of Capcom.
One of these questions asks: “Are there any Capcom game series (including spin-off games) that you would like to see get a sequel or new game?” and gives 20 options.
Another asks: “Is there a game you would like to see completely remade with the latest technology, including characters design and story direction?” with nine options.
Although the survey isn’t scheduled to end until April 12, Capcom has shared a word cloud showing which games have appeared most often in the survey answers.
The words shown largest in the word cloud are those which have appeared most frequently, suggesting that Dino Crisis and Mega Man have been the most requested series.
Ace Attorney and Resident Evil are also notable in the word cloud (albeit a little smaller), while such series as Onimusha, Devil May Cry, Darkstalkers, Okami and Breath of Fire can also be spotted.
A Japanese version of the word cloud was also posted, showing the responses from Japanese players. In this version, the largest (and therefore most popular) series are Breath of Fire, Rockman (Mega Man), Gyakuten Saiban (Ace Attorney) and Sengoku Basara.
While Capcom’s survey doesn’t mean any of these sequels or remakes are actively in development, it does imply that the publisher is seeking feedback from its audience before it decides which projects are worth pursuing next.
The Capcom Town website was launched in June 2023 to celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary.
Billed by Capcom as “the ultimate digital tourist destination”, Capcom Town has been updated regularly with new features and includes a Retro Games section, a Musem and a ‘Merch Factory’ where players can download Capcom-themed Twitter icons.
