Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2v2 alpha hits PS4 this week

PlayStation Plus not required to sample Gunfight mode

Activision will run a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare alpha test this week exclusively on PS4.

Users will be able to sample the game’s new 2v2 Gunfight mode from August 23-25.

Players won’t require a PlayStation Plus subscription to get in on the action, which will take place across five close-quarters maps that are custom-built for the mode.

Activision describes Gunfight as “multi-round cage matches” in which players have the same loadout, which switches every two rounds.

Rounds last for 40 seconds, followed by a capture the flag-based overtime period if one or more players from each team are still alive when the time expires.

Activision released a 24-minute Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer gameplay video earlier this month, featuring five different modes across five maps, including one night variant.
