Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 6 bring WW2 features to Verdansk, new MP and Zombies maps
Halloween event The Haunting also coming in October
Activision has detailed Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 6.
Scheduled to launch on October 7, it will include new Warzone map updates, a trio of new multiplayer maps, a new Zombies map, plus a Halloween event.
In Warzone, new points of interest in Verdansk will be created when fissures crack open Stadium and Downtown to reveal WWII-era bunkers offering players an underground system of passageways and armaments rooms to explore.
These are tied into the upcoming launch of Warzone’s new World War 2 Pacific map, which will arrive to coincide with Call of Duty: Vanguard’s release in November.
Warzone is also introducing a new Gulag in Season 6, which is inspired by the game’s original one.
Additionally, Warzone is freezing Regiments “in preparation to transition it towards a new and more rewarding Clan system based around playing with your friends and fellow community members” which will launch before the end of the year.
On the multiplayer front, three new maps will be available when Season 6 launches.
“One of the most unique map experiences ever seen in Call of Duty”, Deprogram (6v6) is a warped combat arena built from fragments of Adler’s memories.
Amerika (6v6) is a Soviet version of an American Main Street, while Gluboko (2v2 and 3v3) is set in the underground vault of the KGB headquarters.
Season 6 is also adding a new round-based Zombies map called Forsaken. Billed as the “epic conclusion to Black Ops Cold War Zombies”, it will arrive alongside a new Perk, a new Wonder Weapon and a new main quest.
A Halloween event, The Haunting, will then take place across Warzone and Black Ops Cold War from October 19 to November 2.
Call of Duty: Vanguard will be released for consoles and PC on November 5, 2021.
