Black Ops 6 is now targeting ‘disruptive behavior’ like AFK players

Call of Duty developer Treyarch has revealed its plans to target “disruptive” players in Black Ops 6’s Season One update, which goes live today.

According to the latest patch notes, Treyarch has delivered several updates to “combat disruptive behavior” in the game’s multiplayer mode. That includes enhanced detective from when players are AFK (intentionally not playing the game), which some have done to boost their XP.

The developer has also adjusted thresholds for player pings during matches, in order to better detect when a VPN is being used in order to jump to different server regions.

Most notable, however, is the change to Ranked Play. Players will now need to win 50 match-made multiplayer matches in order to unlock Ranked in Black Ops 6.

“This ensures that players are experienced with multiplayer before they enter the mode and gives #TeamRICOCHET a historical match history to examine before an account enters Ranked Play,” Treyarch explained.

Treyarch will also utilize its Replay Investigation Tool to monitor replays of top players, it said, and all these changes will apply to Call of Duty: Warzone during mid-season.

Black Ops 6 Season 1 goes live at 9am PT / 1pm ET / 5pm GMT today, adding three new multiplayer maps, two new modes, multiple weapons and attachements, and a Battle Pass with more unlockable items.
