As Warzone Season 6 launches, Raven confirms it is the ‘last in Verdansk’
The shooter’s original map is set to be replaced with a World War 2 one
Raven Software has confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone Season 6 will be the game’s final season set in its original map, Verdansk.
Black Ops Cold War and Warzone Season 6 launched overnight, introducing a variety of new content and weapon tuning.
In Warzone, new points of interest in Verdansk have been created with fissures cracking open Stadium and Downtown to reveal World War 2 era bunkers offering players an underground system of passageways and armaments rooms to explore.
These are tied into the upcoming launch of Warzone’s new WW2 Pacific map, which will arrive shortly after Call of Duty: Vanguard’s release in November.
“Season 6 will be our last time in Verdansk,” Warzone’s creative director, Amos Hodge, said in a video to tie in with the new season’s launch (the full Season 6 patch notes are republished below).
Confirming a VGC exclusive from earlier this year, Raven unveiled the new Warzone map in September.
It will feature completely original locations and share new engine technology with Call of Duty Vanguard, which is powered by an updated version of the Modern Warfare engine.
“We are going to the Pacific, featuring an entirely new play space, complete with all-new points of interest,” Hodge said at the time.
“Players will get to traverse the lush landscapes of the island and make their way through a variety of extremely cool locations, while battling it out alongside friends and foes.
“Our goal was to create a fresh, new experience for Call of Duty players by breaking out of the war-torn world of Verdansk to create an atmosphere that is vibrant, alive and really opens the doors to how we can craft the narratives and events.”
VGC reported earlier this year that the new Pacific map would be larger than Verdansk and feature new vehicles to cater to its significant size.

Modes
Scopes and Scatterguns, The Rebirth Of…!
Get up close and personal… deal death from afar… spend a lifetime reloading between bolts… the choice is yours! Scopes and Scatterguns returns to Warzone – with a new twist.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Rebirth Resurgence
- This mode builds upon a map and ruleset combination that we already all know and love – Rebirth Resurgence!
- Limited Loot
- The loot table will only include Shotguns, Sniper Rifles, and Crossbows. Aim true, Operator.
- No Loadouts
- No free Loadouts Drops and no purchasable Loadout in the Buy Station either! Players will have to up their scavenging game and win with what they find!
- New Starting Weapon
- The 1911 (BOCW) isn’t exactly a Shotgun… so Players will spawn in with the thematic Marshal (BOCW) instead.
This returning mode will go live during the second week of Season Six on October 14th. Keep an eye on our Twitter for weekly Playlist updates!
