April’s PlayStation Plus ‘free’ Essential monthly games have been confirmed

Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus Essential monthly games for April.

This time there will be just three games to claim, all of which will be available from April 7 until May 4 for members of all three PlayStation Plus tiers – Essential, Extra and Premium.

As previously leaked, April’s PlayStation Plus Essential games include Lords of the Fallen, the 2023 successor to the 2014 game of the same name.

Released in October 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Lords of the Fallen was a reboot of the dark fantasy action-RPG of the same name that was released in 2014.

Joining it is Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, which consists of the first three Lara Croft titles including all expansions and secret levels. Each game includes updated graphics, with the option to switch to their original polygonal look.

Finally, the third PS Plus Essential game is Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream, an online co-op action game where up to 20 players can team up.

All three games will be available to claim from April 7 until May 4, at which point they will be replaced by another selection of titles.

As ever, players who claim the games will be able to continue playing them after they’re no longer available to claim, as long as they remain subscribed to any PlayStation Plus tier.

Players can continue to claim March’s PlayStation Plus Essential games until the end of April 6. These include PGA Tour 2K25, Monster Hunter Rise, Slime Rancher 2 and The Elder Scrolls Online.
