Animal Crossing’s Wedding Season event starts today

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has started its latest event, Wedding Season.

The seasonal event will run through to June 30 and has player’s vising Harvey’s Island to meet the married couple Reese and Cyrus, and help arrange and take anniversary photos with them in the wedding-picture studio.

For each day players participate in the activity they will receive wedding-themed items as a reward, as well as the Heart Crystal event currency. Heart Crystals can be used to purchase wedding items from a daily selection.

Wedding Season is the final event of Nintendo’s first wave of post-launch New Horizons content, following Bunny Day, Nature Day, May Day and Museum Day.

New Horizons’ next wave of content may have been hinted at in recent datamined Animal Crossing: Hew Horizons features, which previously revealed some of the first-wave plans.

A datamine of the game’s code by Twitter user Ninji found references to vegetable growing, diving and several other unannounced features, including the previously uncovered coffee shop.

Nintendo announced last month that Animal Crossing: New Horizons sold 13.41m units in its first six weeks on sale. The figure represents the best launch ever for a Nintendo Switch title.

New Horizons has already outsold all previous Animal Crossing instalments, including New Leaf and Wild World, according to Nintendo.
