Another new Xbox Series X/S controller has seemingly leaked ahead of its official announcement.
It will reportedly cost $64.99 / €64.99, with an estimated price of £59.99 in the UK.
Microsoft has officially announced the Astral Purple Xbox wireless controller, which launches on September 19 for $65 / £60.
Astral Purple is currently one of the colours available to players on Xbox’s Design Lab service, which allows users to customise their own controllers.
Microsoft has already released at least seven new Xbox controller designs in 2023.
March also saw the release of red and blue editions of the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller.
In May it released a Sunkissed Vibes controller with a peach and pastel blue theme, then in June it released the limited edition Starfield controller.
And last month in launched the Stormcloud Vapor Xbox Series X/S controller.
Xbox boss Phil Spencer said last week that Microsoft is committed to releasing the same games for both Xbox Series X and S consoles, and that he doesn’t see a future where the entry-level system has to miss out on some titles due to technical limitations.
He also said the price of current-gen consoles won’t come down over time in the same way as other systems have in past generations, and that he thinks a mid-gen refresh would create “a ton of complexity for creators and players”.
