In a management briefing following the publication of its latest financial results on Thursday, the company stated that both the standard Switch Online subscription and its premium version will continue to have new incentives added.
“By enhancing services, we have increased the opportunities for members to continue playing Nintendo Switch,” it said. “These enhancements include Game Trial events, which allow users to play a specific title during a specific time period, and the addition of member-exclusive games.”
It added: “Going forward, we will continue to improve and expand both Nintendo Switch Online and Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, striving to provide services that satisfy customers.”
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack - Overview Trailer
Numerous sources have claimed that Game Boy games are coming to Switch Online soon.
The standard Nintendo Switch Online subscription costs $3.99 / £3.49 per month, or $19.99 / £17.99 per year, and includes a selection of benefits as well as the ability to play Switch games online.
These include access to a library of NES and SNES games, as well as member-exclusive games like Tetris 99 and Pac-Man 99.
The Expansion Pack, which was released late last month, increases the price to $49.99 / £34.99 for an annual membership.
According to Nintendo’s latest comments, the company will continue to provide new features to the standard service too, rather than simply adding all future benefits to the Expansion Pack.
