Alien is the next horror franchise coming to Dead by Daylight

Alien will be the next horror franchise set to make an appearance in Dead by Daylight.

Developer Behaviour Interactive has released a teaser trailer that appears to show a recreation of the Nostromo ship from the original 1979 Alien movie.

The trailer also shows a brief glimpse of the Xenomorph creature from the movie, which screams and jumps into the screen.

According to the trailer, more information on the Alien DLC will be made available on August 8.

Alien is just the latest of many classic horror franchise characters to make crossover appearances in the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game.

• The Demogorgon, Steve and Nancy (Stranger Things)
• Pyramid Head and Cheryl (Silent Hill)
• Nemesis, Leon and Jill (Resident Evil)

• Sadako and Yoichi Asakawa (Ringu)
• Wesker, Ada and Rebecca (Resident Evil)
• Nicolas Cage

The game has also featured numerous original villains and protagonists since its initial release in 2016.

In all, the Alien update will be the 34th piece of DLC to be added to the game.

Earlier this year it was announced that a film adaptation of Dead by Daylight is in production at Blumhouse, the studio behind such movies as The Purge, Insidious, Paranormal Activity and Get Out.
