The film’s debut trailer was released in October and gave fans the first chance to hear Chris Pratt as the voice of Mario.
It was also confirmed this week that The Super Mario Bros Movie will be coming to parts of Europe, Australia and South America before it arrives in North America on April 7, 2023.
Universal Studios UK has announced that the film will release in UK cinemas on March 31. Meanwhile, Universal Studios France has confirmed a March 29 release for French cinema-goers.
The earliest date to be confirmed so far is Belgium, where the film will release on March 22. It will release in Australia and New Zealand on March 30.
Promotional images for the movie leaked on Tuesday, along with fresh details about the film.
These included an apparent synopsis of the movie’s story which reads: “The movie tells the story of two Brooklyn plumbers who are brothers and best friends: Mario, the brave one with the ‘let’s-a-go’ attitude, and the perpetually anxious Luigi, who would prefer to go nowhere.”
