A second Fire Emblem game could launch this year, according to a recognised industry insider.
Emily Rogers, who has a strong track record of accurate Nintendo reporting, posted to Famiboards that she believes a second Fire Emblem title is currently in development at Intelligent Systems, and that it could launch this year.
“I’ve mentioned before that this game is nearly finished with its development,” she wrote. “IS has had over 3+ years to develop this game, and they received assistance from a support studio.”
While Rogers speculates that the game could be delayed until 2023, she also mentions that in 2017, both Fire Emblem Warriors and Fire Emblem Echoes were released, implying that the same could be true for 2022, with this unknown Fire Emblem title releasing alongside the recently revealed Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

Nintendo announced Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes for Nintendo Switch earlier this month.
Releasing on June 24, Three Hopes is described as a new story set in the same universe as 2019’s Three Houses.
Intelligent Systems last Fire Emblem title, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, was met with critical acclaim. It currently holds a score of 89/100 on the review aggregator Metacritic. The game was co-developed by Intelligent Systems and Koei Tecmo.
While speculating whether or not this new Fire Emblem game will release in 2022, Rogers mentions October, then goes on to say that, “I just don’t think Bayonetta 3 is a big enough title to carry an entire month on its own,” implying that she believes that the long in development Bayonetta 3 will finally release in October 2022.
