A new Samba De Amigo game has seemingly leaked ahead of today’s Nintendo Direct

A new Samba De Amigo game appears to have leaked ahead of an imminent reveal.

Twitter user SnoopyTech claimed on Wednesday that Samba De Amigo Party Central will be announced for Switch during a Nintendo Direct live stream today.

To support their claims, they posted what appears to be box art, screenshots and a product description for a new Sega game, which are viewable below.

“Samba de Amigo: Party Central marks the return of the rhythm action series with a playlist that will get you and your friends moving thanks to 40 hits from the world’s most popular genres including EDM, pop, Latin, and more,” reads the alleged product description.

“Plus, with a wide variety of mini-games and challenges to enjoy; a ton of unique costumes and accessories to unlock and wear; and new online features – including an 8-player World Party mode, there’s plenty of fuel to ignite the party!”

Developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega, the original Samba de Amigo was released in arcades in 1999 and for Dreamcast the following year. VGC named it one of the best Dreamcast games for Sega’s final home console.

Wednesday’s Nintendo Direct showcase will start at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm GMT and will last for approximately 40 minutes.

It will be “mostly focused on Nintendo Switch games launching in the first half of 2023”, according to Nintendo.

Upcoming first-party games include Kirby’s Return to Dreamland Deluxe (February 24), Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon (March 17) and Pikmin 4 (2023).

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the sequel to the popular Switch launch title Breath of the Wildis set for release on May 12 and could launch alongside a special edition Switch OLED console.
