A new MultiVersus ad appears to confirm Black Adam and Stripe

The DC antihero and Gremlins villain may be coming soon

A new MultiVersus ad appears to confirm Black Adam and Stripe

Sightings have been reported of a new Xbox dashboard ad that appears to reveal two previously unannounced MultiVersus characters.

The ad, which has been shared online by numerous different Twitter users, appears to show new artwork for the game.

The middle of the artwork appears to show Black Adam and Stripe, two characters who have never been confirmed.

A previously leaked list of upcoming fighters also didn’t mention either character, though Gizmo from Gremlins was listed instead.

Black Adam is a DC anti-hero who was imprisoned for more than 5000 years and is now free again in modern times.

Warner Bros is releasing a live-action Black Adam movie in October, starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the title role. It’s not clear if Johnson will also voice Black Adam in MultiVersus, however.

Stripe, meanwhile, is the main antagonist in the first Gremlins movie. He was originally a cuddly Mogwai who was cloned from the film’s protagonist Gizmo after he was splashed with water.

After eating food after midnight, Stripe (and a number of other Mogwai clones) then turned into a Gremlin, hell-bent on causing trouble.

Season 1 of MultiVersus is set to start later today, so it’s possible that Black Adam and Stripe will make appearances then, most likely in messages telling players that they’ll be coming later in the season.

A previous MultiVersus roster leak mentioned 21 characters said to be planned for the game. Three of those characters – LeBron James, Rick and Morty – have since been officially confirmed, but Black Adam and Stripe were not in the list.

The most recent information from developer Player First Games is that Morty from Rick and Morty will be the first new character introduced in Season 1.

Morty is set to be added to the game on August 23, with Rick to follow later in the season.

MultiVersus game director Tony Huynh recently confirmed that the MultiVersus Season 1 Battle Pass will include 50 tiers and will cost in the region of $10 / £8.

The current Preseason Battle Pass – which was only due to run for two weeks until Season 1 was delayed – includes 15 tiers of character skins, profile icons, XP, coins, and other cosmetics.
