A Forspoken demo looks set to be announced imminently
There will also be a new gameplay stream this week
A Forspoken demo looks set to be announced imminently.
A tweet promoting the demo was posted by the Japanese PlayStation Twitter account. It seems as though it may have been mistakenly published ahead of schedule, with an official announcement potentially set for The Game Awards on Thursday.
Alternatively, the demo could be confirmed during a new gameplay showcase on Friday. The 11-minute stream will be broadcast on December 9 at 10am PT / 1pm / ET / 6pm GMT.
Announced for PS5 and PC in June 2020, Forspoken is the debut game from Square Enix’s Luminous Productions.
In June the publisher delayed the game for a second time. Having originally been scheduled to arrive in May 2022, the Forspoken release date was pushed back by a further three and a half months, from October to January 24, 2023.
In August, Square Enix debuted 10 minutes of gameplay, focusing on combat and parkour.
“Players can choose to wreak magical havoc on enemies, fighting in a controlled frenzy and unleashing a barrage of quick-fire spells or they can take a more methodical approach wielding powerful and calculated attacks on their adversaries. In Forspoken, no two fights are ever the same,” it claimed.
Square Enix has said it’s aiming to deliver “the highest quality visuals ever seen in an open world game” with Forspoken, which will be a PlayStation console exclusive for two years.
