A black version of the PlayStation Portal is reportedly coming soon

Sony is gearing up to launch a black version of the PlayStation Portal.

The new colourway is coming soon as part of a larger refresh of PlayStation’s accessories line, according to highly reliable dataminer billbil-kun.

Writing on Dealabs, they said the black PlayStation Portal will initially be available in limited quantities, which could lead to similar shortages as those seen when the product originally launched last November.

The same source recently claimed that Sony is also preparing to announce black versions of the DualSense Edge controller, Pulse Elite wireless headphones and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds before Christmas.

To date, all of the aforementioned products have only been available in white, excluding the limited edition 30th anniversary PlayStation Portal and DualSense Edge.

The black PlayStation Portal will reportedly cost the same as the existing one: $199.99 / £199.99 / €219.99.

A Helldivers-themed PS5 DualSense controller is also coming soon, it’s been claimed.

Earlier this week Sony updated PlayStation’s website with a timeline chronicling 30 years of the iconic gaming brand.

Featuring a host of images, videos and stats, the update was launched ahead of PlayStation’s 30th anniversary on December 3, 2024.
