Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Epona location: Amiibo
The easiest way to get Epona is by scanning a Link amiibo. Doing this for the first time on your fresh save will spawn Epona (or weirdly, multiple Epona if you have more than one Link amiibo.
After it spawns, you’re going to have to take Epona to one of the many stables in the game and register her for 20 Rupees. This means that you can recall Epona whenever you want so long as you’re near a stable.
However, if you have a Link amiibo, you’re probably a pretty big Zelda fan, meaning you wont even have to do that to get Epona, as long as you meet the other criteria.
Epona Breath of the Wild save file
Currently, the only other way that we know that you can get Epona in the game is if you have a Breath of the Wild save file, or you have the game installed on your Nintendo Switch.
If you meet these criteria, once you approach the stable it’ll be mentioned to you that they recognize Link and that there’s a special horse waiting for them. This is Epona, meaning you can essentially start the game with the best horse in the game by a mile.
