Onimusha WOTS: ‘Solve the Mask Puzzle’ solution

There aren’t many puzzles in Onimusha: Way of the Sword, but the one that evokes the classic Onimusha games is the Mask Puzzle.

As you explore the area in the What Lurks in the Shadow main mission, you’ll encounter a room, and the objective will shift to ‘Solve the mask puzzle.’

How to solve the Mask Puzzle – Onimusha WOTS

During the What Lurks in the Shadows mission, you’ll be tasked with solving the mysterious Mask Puzzle. There are four masks on the wall above a locked box, and four masks on the opposite wall hanging against shoji.

Each mask against the shoji is lit by an overhead spotlight, and mirrors one of the masks above the locked box. To solve the puzzle, you simply need to shoot the masks above the locked box in the correct order.

Getting the order is the tough part, and there’s a secret to getting the order. If you go behind the wall and look at the other side of the shoji the masks hang on, you’ll see the light streaming through.

Each mask lets a different amount of light through small slits in the design, and the number of light shafts making it through each mask reveals the order you must shoot them in.

From left to right, this is the order you must shoot the masks in:

• Third mask
• Fourth mask
• First mask
• Second mask

As a reward, you will be given the Unsettling Mask. This can be used as a key to open a previous door.
