Fisch rod tier list – What’s the best rod in Fisch?
In rod we trust
Latest update
We’ve reworked the best Fisch rods list to accommodate new crafted rods and the Rod of the Depths.
To catch fish more efficiently, you’re going to want the best rod in Fisch. With quite a few to unlock and use, the question of which outperforms the rest can be tricky.
Based on the rod you use in Fisch, the critters you’ll catch will be of different types and rarities. So if you’re looking for a specific fish, a specific rod will suit you more. But for general grinding, there’s always a better Fisch rod out there. Some fishing spots can only be accessed with specific rods, too, and this Fisch rod tier list takes it all into account.
What’s the best rod in Fisch?
Here’s a brief look at the best Fisch rods for beginners, experienced players, and pros:
Rod of the Depths – The best end-game rod in Fisch
- Speed | 65%
- Luck | 130%
- Control | 0.15
- Resilience | 10%
- Max weight | 30,000kg
If you’re a Fisch pro, you’ll want to grab the Rod of the Depths to keep it up. Not only is it fast, it produces a bonus fish with every third catch. With the right enchantments, it can be a great way to complete the Bestiary, catch event fish, grind XP, or farm cash.
Available for a whopping 750,000C$, it’s one of the game’s most expensive items, never mind the most expensive rod. It also requires 100% completion of the Vertigo bestiary by virtue of it being locked behind the door to The Depths—which requires a Depths Key, too.
You’ll also need a couple more items and the willpower to solve a fairly complex puzzle. Think you’re ready? Check out our guide on how to get the Rod of the Depths.
Trident Rod – The best mid-game rod in Fisch
- Speed |20%
- Luck | 150%
- Control | 0
- Resilience | 0%
- Max weight | 6,000kg
Before the release of the Vertigo update in mid-November, the Trident Rod was the best rod in Fisch. And given it’s far more affordable than the latter, it still is in a way.
You’ll find the Trident Rod in the Desolate Deep. It’s a late-game area you’ll find somewhere behind Sunstone Island. Buying it will set you back both 5 relics and 150,000 Cash, however, so on top of the hefty grind and prep to reach it, you’ll need a full wallet.
It’s typically used to help complete the Bestiary due to how easy it makes fishing huge creatures.
Carbon Rod – The best Fisch rod for beginners
Available early on for a bargain price, the best beginner rod—aside from the one you start with—has to be the inanimate Carbon Rod.
With good all-round stats, it’s able to drag up heavier fish from the myriad spots in the wide Fisch world. You’ll find the Carbon Rod for sale at the first Merchant. It’s on a table to the left of his stall.
The Carbon Rod is a reliable option for earning the cash you’ll need to procure bigger, better rods. In rod we trust.
Wisdom Rod – the best rod for grinding XP
If you’re looking to hit the lofty levels needed for some of the top-tier Fisch rods, you might want to look into crafting the Wisdom Rod.
This rod, introduced with crafting on November 30, grants a 70-100% XP boost with every fifth catch. You’ll need to find three other people to help open the door to crafting, but that’s really the only requirement.
The materials can be found by a player of any level, with low-tier rods and treasure maps being particularly effective methods.
Mythical Rod – The best Fisch rod for making money
Once you’ve mastered fishing and reeled in a good chunk of change from around key spots like Harvester’s Spike and Snowcap Island, it’s probably time to grind for the next best rod to release.
To make money fast in Fisch, it’s generally agreed that you should aim for the Mythical Rod from the Traveling Merchant for around 110,000 cash.
The reason why the Mythical Rod is so beloved it its passive effect. There’s a 30% chance that any fish caught will be of the Rainbow variety–a mutation that, while possible with any rod, is otherwise exceedingly rare.
Rainbow fish can be sold at a lavish premium, making the Mythical Rod and its powerful passive the best way to farm cash in Fisch. It’s a great shortcut to obtaining the Trident Rod.
When is the next new Fisch rod?
Around a dozen new rods were introduced to Fisch with the Ancient Isle update on November 30.
Most of these rods come from the new crafting mechanic performed in the Ancient Archive. Many of the rods require materials from Fisch meteors.
More rods are expected to arrive with the next Fisch update in mid December.
