Blood of Dawnwalker: Midnight Reckoning, Xanthe’s labyrinth solution, Greifberg Castle guide

In the final stretch of Blood of Dawnwalker, you’ll march on Brencis’s Greifberg Castle and have to fight through a maze in the Midnight Reckoning quest.

The boyars will have already set up a few traps for you, but if you’ve already defeated them, it’ll save you from having to battle them here. You’ll still have to head through what they set up in advance, though. It’s simple enough to tackle the tasks Ambrus and Bakir have set up for you, but Xanthe has set up a labyrinth. This is different to the lantern puzzle in Xanthe’s Mansion, but it has a very simple solution.

In this guide, we’re breaking down how to solve Xanthe’s labyrinthine maze in Greifberg Castle near the end of The Blood of Dawnwalker.

You’ll see magic circles as you move through some dungeon-like doors, and the next room is a looping puzzle.

Here, after defeating a wave of enemies, you’ll be forced to choose a door. Choosing the incorrect door will have you loop around, fighting yet another wave of repetitive foes. If you want to get through quickly, you’ll need to know which doors lead to the correct route.

To find the correct route, you must use Focus Mode. This will reveal that the flags outside each door will be highlighted, revealing their importance.

The solution is simple. You must move through the door with one or two triangular flags next to it each time. The triangle is hung like decorative bunting, with the tip of the triangle pointing toward the floor.

This flag represents the correct route, and following it repeatedly will quickly take you out of Xanthe’s magical labyrinth so you can find and kill Brencis.
