Blood of Dawnwalker: All romance options and how to date them

Blood of Dawnwalker has three different characters you can romance and get up to naughty things with.

Yes, romance in RPGs is one of the most popular aspects of the genre, and in this guide, we’re breaking down every character you can romance in Blood of Dawnwalker and how you can romance them for yourself.

This basically breaks down to being nice to them and picking the right dialogue options. If you don’t want to screw up a chance with your favorite character, make sure to research how to woo them by reading our instructions below.

Romancing characters explained – BoD

In general – like in most RPGs – romancing characters in Blood of Dawnwalker primarily entails being nice to them and completing side quests with them, but of course, in the case of Dawnwalker, there is the ever-present in-game time limit. If you want to see all possible romantic scenes, then you’ll need to spend some of that time on the three romanceable side characters.

The characters you can romance are as follows:

  • Anca, the herbalist from Lasla
  • Lacra, a vrakhir in Svartrau
  • Crake, leader of the Manumit rebels in Svartrau

Each of these characters has an entirely optional questline that Coen can undertake to romance them, but it’s also possible to entirely miss and skip these romances.

You can romance and engage in intercourse with all three characters without any kind of penalty, so go nuts.

How to romance Anca the herbalist – BoD

Blood of Dawnwalker: All romance options and how to date them

Anca is the herbalist that you meet in Laslea. You first meet her at the beginning of the game when you’re asked to fetch herbs for your mother, and she’ll be with you as you leave Laslea too.

Anca is a key part of several different quests after you leave Laslea, including: Between the Words, Where Old Devils Lie, and Stronger Than Achilles. Your interactions with her during these quests will determine if you manage to get inside her pants.

Anca romance dialogue options

Anca requires a bit more romancing than the other two romance options in the game, but there are plenty of opportunities, including in the game’s prologue. They’re not all necessary, but they do help to paint the picture of Coen and Anca’s romance.

During Between the Words, prepare a warm drink for Anca and say:

  • “It’s my pleasure.”

After the reading scene, reply with:

  • “Always? What do you mean?”
  • “Your feelings toward me – it’s more than just faith.”

During Where Old Devils Lie, inspect the map and reply with:

  • “Who knows what else I have in store for you.”

During Stronger Than Achilles, after having blood drained from your hand, reply with:

  • “Better me than you.”

Near the broken bridge scene with Anca, reply:

  • “I’d do anything for you.”
  • “I love you.” This is the most important option, and everything else has been building to this.

The Font of Life can go to Coen or Anca; the romance will still be possible regardless. After the Font of Life scene, reply with:

  • “There’s a conversation we need to finish.”
  • “I beg to differ.”
  • “Let’s do something fun for once.”

That’s all you need to complete your romance arc with Anca in Blood of Dawnwalker.

How to romance Lacra the vrakhir – BoD

Blood of Dawnwalker: All romance options and how to date them

Lacra is a vrakhir vampire that you can find hanging out around Svartrau, and she has a problem with Brencis just as you do, making her a worthwhile ally. You can find her by inspecting the Northeastern walls of Svartrau, finding things on the rooftops of Svartrau, or after making friends with Vicho.

Lacra is willing to accompany you to the fight with Brencis, and staying with her is one of the game’s ending scenarios. All that in addition to being one of the game’s romance options, of course.

Lacra romance dialogue options

You’ll be with Lacra for several quests in a row, but the romance scene happens during The Night of Horrors quest.

After you eat the mandrake, Lacra will comment that it is “power you could get drunk on.” From here, reply with:

  • “Can vrakhiri get drunk?”
  • “Who says I’m not?”
  • “[drink]”
  • “[kiss her]”

This will take some of your time away, but you’re here for the scene more than anything anyway.

How to romance Crake, the Manumit leader – BoD

Blood of Dawnwalker: All romance options and how to date them

Crake – real name Marat – is the leader of the Manumit rebels, and he also might have a minor crush on Coen. This is the game’s only gay romance option, so if Crake isn’t your type, you’re out of luck.

Earning Crake’s trust isn’t easy, and the people in his circle are distrustful of Coen. Stick to your guns, and you’ll be able to romance the man.

Crake romance dialogue options

After the Distant Shadows quest concludes, you’ll be able to undertake the A Closer Look quest, which is a conversation with Crake. The dialogue selections in this conversation are the only ones that truly matter to see the Crake romance scene.

Use the following dialogue options:

  • “I know what this is about.”
  • “Ascar is your father.”
  • “Why?”
  • “Hey. Nothing you say can change the way I see you.”
  • “[kiss him back]”
