Star Wars Galactic Racer gameplay: New footage of podracing and the game’s single-player campaign

VGC recently got the chance to capture some brand-new gameplay footage of Star Wars: Galactic Racer running on PS5.

We played the first act of the single-player portion of the upcoming racer, which you can view below. VGC previously played this section of the game during our world’s first hands-on, impressions of which you can read here.

“I’m thrilled with what I’ve played of Star Wars: Galactic Racer so far,” our preview reads. “It’s a high-octane racer that will thrill Burnout fans, but beyond that, the game’s campaign mode has a depth that I didn’t expect.

“My main question now is the length of the campaign, and just how different each run can be. But even if the depth shown off in this demo isn’t fully realized in the final game, the racing itself has done more than enough to convince me.”

Star Wars: Galactic Racer will be released on October 6. Earlier this year, developer Fuse Games announced multiple versions of the game, including a $160 physical collector’s edition. 

The Deluxe Edition of the game will cost $79.99/£64.99/€79.99 and comes with three bonus vehicles – the Kor Sarun: Darc X landspeeder, Kor Sarun: Ciza T speeder bike, and Kor Sarun: Rak S skim speeder – alongside three deluxe Arcade events, the Deluxe Livery Pack, Deluxe Player Banner Pack, and a Digital Art Book.

The highest-tier version, a $159.99/£139.99/€159.99 physical Collector’s Edition, will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, and comes with a physical model of the Kor Sarun: Darc X landspeeder, along with a physical banner, two pilot patches, a physical copy of the Digital Art Book, and a custom slip cover and steel case.
