
Ubisoft
Ubisoft is a French video game publisher headquartered in Saint-Mande, founded by the Guillemot family in 1986.
The chairman and CEO of Ubisoft is Yves Guillemot, and the company’s first success was the platform game Rayman in 1995. Ubisoft’s video game franchises include Assassin’s Creed, Driver, Far Cry, Just Dance, and Watch Dogs.
The Gulliemot brothers, Christian, Claude, Gérard, Michel, and Yves, set up Ubi Soft Entertainment S.A. following their first business, Guillemot Informatique, which they founded in 1984. They sold computers and software before deciding to focus on development.
In 2022, Tencent invested in Ubisoft, helping take its games into China and helping pay off Ubisoft’s debts. More recently, Ubisoft announced major restructuring following cost-cutting measures and staff layoffs.
