Smilegate
Smilegate is a South Korean video game company, founded in 2002. The company develops, publishes, and services online games and is a corporate group owned by Smilegate Holdings.
As referenced in The Korea Economic Daily, Smilegate was named the largest game company in South Korea in 2022.
Smilegate is known for creating Crossfire, and following the game, was nominated by Game Developer as one of ‘The Top 30 Developers’. SuperData Research in 2014 also reported that Crossfire generated the most revenue worldwide among F2P games.
Lost Ark, Epic Seven, and LORDNINE are also popular games published by Smilegate. Lost Ark was one of the top trending games in South Korea, whilst Epic Seven was one of the first successful titles in the West.
