Konami is a Japanese game developer and publisher based in Tokyo. It is known for its Metal Gear Solid and Pro Evolution Soccer games.
The company also produces and distributes anime, trading cards, pachinko machines and arcade cabinets. It was founded in Osaka, Japan, in 1969, where it first started as a rental and repair business by Kagemasa Kōzuki, Nakama, and Miyasako.
Konami is the twentieth-largest video game company in the world by revenue.
In 2025, Konami announced that it would split the arcade game business into a new subsidiary known as Konami Arcade Games. It has since signed an agreement with CyberAgent and Electronic Arts focused on video game business as well as becoming official partners with J-League, The Japanese Olympic committee and The Nippon Professional Baseball League.
