PS5 Pro reaction: ‘$700 feels like a stretch even for hardcore players’
This is a blog post, where VGC writers post irreverent and (occasionally) entertaining coverage of video game culture.

VGC’s Jordan Middler and Push Square’s Aaron Bayne have just sat down to record their initial reactions to PS5 Pro’s announcement.

Sony used a technical presentation on Tuesday to finally unveil the long-anticipated PS5 Pro, which will launch in November priced at $700 / £700 / €800.

It will include a 2TB SSD and a DualSense wireless controller, but players who want a disc drive will need to purchase one separately.

Revealed during a live stream hosted by system architect Mark Cerny on Tuesday, PS5 Pro introduces a larger GPU, advanced ray tracing, and AI-driven upscaling for new and existing titles.

You can listen to Jordan and Aaron’s thoughts on the PS5 Pro price, the enhanced games, and who they think this console is for, in the video below.

VGC has also published a list of all of the games that have currently been confirmed to be enhanced by PS5 Pro.

The console will also offer performance improvements for PlayStation VR2 games. Cerny told Cnet that PS5 Pro’s improved GPU power will allow for higher-resolution games on PSVR 2.

PS5 Pro’s AI-assisted upscaling mode, called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, will also work on PS VR2 games in the future, he said.
