Electronic Arts

Electronic Arts (EA) is an American video game company that was founded in 1982 by Trip Hawkins.

Headquartered in Redwood City, California, the company has developed and published games such as EA Sports FC, Dead Space, Medal of Honor, Need for Speed, The Sims, and Star Wars.

EA owns and operates gaming studios such as BioWare, Battlefield Studios and Respawn Entertainment. The company’s early partners included Looking Glass Studios, MGM Interactive, DreamWorks, and DICE.

EA Partners’ co-publishing program is focused on publishing and distributing games developed by third-party developers.  A label within EA’s own EA Partners Program is EA Originals, which helps support independently developed video games.

In September 2025, EA announced plans that it would become privately owned by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund, with the deal expected to be completed by June 2026.
